Hey Triathletes!

 

We are less than 2 months from the Malibu Triathlon!!! That's right, we have a few more weeks of training (and fundraising) before race day!

 

Over the next few weeks, we will be offering weekly training for swimming, cycling and running (as permitted by L.A. County and CA state guidelines) based on participation. We have not had very much turnout this season.

 

I hope that you will take advantage of the various training clinics and team practices that I’ll be offering over the next few weeks. I look forward to helping you reach your triathlon goals, and raise lots of money for CHLA’s pediatric cancer research program along the way!

Cycling Skills

What to bring

Team Bike Ride at Malibu (Race Course)

Saturdays at 9:00am

Bike: 17–25 mi

You must RSVP to participate.

Beginner----Intermediate

Location: Zuma Beach - 30050 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA Tower 12 (towards the far North End of parking lot). You can pay to park in parking lot, or park on south bound side of PCH for free, if spots are available.

Bike helmet, bike shoes, bike, sunglasses, tire changing kit, water to carry on bike, sunscreen, nutrition for post work out.

 

Please note: we will be running after the bike ride. You have the option of doing just the ride, or just the run, or both.

Sundays at 8:00am

Bike: 8-12 mi  + Short ROTB

Beginner----Intermediate

Griffith Park – 4400 Crystal Springs Dr., L.A., CA

We will meet in the parking lot, north of the pony rides.

Parking is free.

Bike helmet (mandatory), bike shoes, bike, sunglasses, tire changing kit, water to carry on bike, sunscreen, nutrition for post work out.

 

Please note: we will be jogging after the bike ride. You have the option of doing just the ride, or just the jog, or both.

300 Park Ave, San Fernando, CA 91340

Bright-colored swim cap, goggles, swimsuit, towel, nutrition for post work out. Other suggested items to bring: pool buoy, fins, kick board, and snorkel (for swim drills).

USAT Sanctioned Triathlon Training

 

This year, the majority of our team training/clinics will be USAT Sanctioned events .

If you plan on participating in a few of the series, and the ocean swim clinics, this summer, you may want to consider getting a  one year USAT membership ($50) at usatriathlon.org
